A common theme with the Miura America sales team is the real world experience they bring to the industry. David Urso who handles the Chicagoland territory is no exception. David brings his years of experience from working in the commercial mechanical HVAC world with him. He came up the honest way, the way many guys did – the old school “trade school” way. When they were called “trade schools.” You graduated high school, you learned a trade, and you went to work. There was no time for sitting around, figuring out what you wanted to be while your parents paid for things. Things needed to be done and trade schools were there to move America along.

When David meets with customers, he truly understands what it means to have your systems shut down. He’s seen it happen. He understands what it means to lose money in real time. “Being ahead of things is something I learned in the HVAC world. It’s often not just about comfort in heating and cooling, it’s about saving money.”

In his role in the HVAC world, he was much more of a consultant than a salesperson, and David has carried this common sense approach with him to Miura. The way he views steam is, in a way, very simple. He has a steam system, which ultimately is the heart of something, which you (the customer) need to keep things running so that you’re not clogging your arteries. So many of us in the steam solutions industry view steam boilers this way when we really step back and think about it, but David approaches steam this way by default. We tend to make the steam boiler and its role so complex that we often forget its core function and David cuts through it all – The steam boiler is the heart of the operation.

If you spend time with David for more than a few minutes, you’ll find him completely refreshing. He’s a no-nonsense guy. Perhaps you’ve been to Chicago, and you’ve been around the type. David doesn’t have time for “subtexts.” He says what he means and means what he says. You don’t have to guess what he’s trying to tell you. If your business needs a new steam solution, he’s going to tell you exactly what it needs and if it doesn’t, he’ll tell you.

Favorite things about working for Miura: “I like the people. Everyone I’ve met is great and seems to be happy when I’m talking with them and wants to get things done. It all comes down to people. I think Miura has done a great job at creating a great atmosphere.

Hobbies: David has two sons, Damian (8) and Roman (4). Outside of hanging out with his boys, he plays drums and loves to stay fit to keep up with Damien and Roman.
